Welcome! I'm Wes, and I’m running for Portage County Municipal Court Judge to bring fairness, transparency, and integrity to our community’s legal system. With years of experience and a commitment to justice, I will ensure every case is heard with impartiality and respect.
Meet Wesley — Candidate for Portage County Court Judge
I have been a resident of Portage County for more than a decade. Wesley is a single
father who has identical twin daughters. Wesley is a resident of Brimfield.
My focus is on my practice in criminal defense and trial work. This gives me
courtroom experience every day. I graduated from the University of Akron School of Law, and while attending Law School, I was a member of Akron Law’s nationally ranked Trial Team. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Heidelberg College.
I stay involved within the community.
I'm a graduate of Leadership
Portage County Class of 2024. I support Portage County’s 4-H program and am a member of the Portage County Bar Association.
When I'm not working, I spend time with my daughters and their numerous
activities.
I look forward to bringing my experience to the bench, when elected as the next Portage County Municipal Court Judge.
As a proud father of identical twins, I understand the importance of family, community, and giving back.
I am deeply committed to fostering a positive impact in our local area, supporting a
variety of causes that promote education, youth development, and family well-being.
Through volunteering, charitable donations, and grassroots initiatives, I strive to make a difference in the lives of those around us. I believe that by working together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community for future generations.
With over 12 years of experience in criminal defense, I’ve dedicated my career to standing up for individuals facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. From the start, I’ve believed in the power of strong, principled advocacy—and over the years, I’ve built a reputation for being a relentless defender of my clients' rights, no matter the circumstances of the case.
I’ve spent countless hours in courtrooms across our region, and those experiences have shaped who I am as a trial lawyer. I thrive under pressure. I don’t back down easily. And I never forget that behind every case file is a real person—someone who deserves to be heard, respected, and vigorously defended. I take pride in my in-depth understanding of criminal procedure and my ability to navigate the complex and often intimidating criminal justice system.
Whether I’m filing a motion to suppress evidence, cross-examining a witness, or standing before a judge, I bring a level of preparation and commitment that my clients can count on. But being a strong legal advocate is only part of the job. Just as important to me is how I treat the people I serve. I understand that facing criminal charges can be overwhelming and frightening.
That’s why I make it a point to truly listen—to get to know each client, understand their story, and make sure they feel supported every step of the way.
I maintain open and honest communication, break down legal processes in ways that are easy to understand, and help clients feel empowered to make informed decisions about their future.
At the end of the day, my job is about more than just legal defense—it’s about protecting people, restoring dignity, and fighting for second chances. I’m proud of the work I do, and I consider it a privilege to stand beside my clients when they need it most.
